The Six photos on the right are of Bella the day we finally raised enough money to take her off the street and get her to the hospital. She was so scared, however it seemed like a part of her new we were trying to help her and save her life. We were told she probably would not of lived another two days if we had not rescued her. God bless all those who had donated to her vet care. You'll never truly know how grateful we are and more importantly how grateful Bella is to finally have a chance at life! Just the simply act of petting is so new and unknown to her! She can now receive the love and attention she deserves and be free from the horrible pain she was constantly living her entire life!

These two pictures bellow are of Bella currently, She looks so Beautiful! Bella still has a long way to go.
Bella was found in an alley near our home. She was completely emaciated and in really bad shape. She literately smelled "dead", & her flesh was rotting away from her body. She was bleeding from over 35 places on her body and has three type of skin infections. She was missing 95% of her hair, and is in such horrific shape the veterinarian couldn't even guess what breed of dog this poor baby is. She was in alot of pain and really needed our help! I brought her into the VCA, and we got a better Idea on her condition. Bella has numerous medical conditions that are in need of immediate attention! With medical care her outlook dose look good, however it is going to require many months of ongoing medical care, love, & compassion. The vet care costs are over whelming, but we cannot doom these animals to death out of financial convenience!

With the donations we received we were able to start Bella and Palmita with more needed treatment!
We had a 9AM appointment with the vet at the VCA and he was able to look over Bella's situation more thoroughly. We had skin scrapings done and concluded she does have severe dermatopic mange on top of yeast, Staph, and other skin infections.
Her immune system is very weak so at this time she will not be spayed or vaccinated however we will have to plan on that later down the recovery line when she shows some improvement.
We have been able to start a variety of treatments such as ivermax, cephalalexin, ketochlor, and mitaban. As of right now we will continua with this combination of medicines and treatments until we see improvements before moving on to her other medical issues.
I have continued the donation option as we are in need of refiles of the cephalexin right away as well as Palmitas medicines and secondary Dr. visit and treatment.
Thank all of you again for your help and your ongoing support!

The girls are doing great! Bella has got her appetite back and gained weight and she has grown some of her hair back. You can tell that she is in a lot less pain and much more sound. I'm going to take her back to the VCA in about a week to see if she can start anymore of her treatments. She has come along way in such a short amount of time but we have a long road ahead of us to see her at %100 She is still a little shy and timid however I see her coming around soon. She loves to play, run and cuddle. Bella thinks she is a tiny lap dog and tries to crawl up into your lap for loves. She is an absolutely amazing dog!

Bella could not go to the 8th vet appointment with Palmita because she was getting spayed at another facility, however she was seen on the 9th. Our biggest concern at this point was that she had always displayed major signs of heart worm, hacking , coughing and such and it was a huge chance that even know we have came this far she may have her life cut short be these horrible heart parasites. To everyone's surprise she tested negative! Her skin scraping revealed that we did indeed concur the battle with the demodex, however curiously we found the mites in her stool samples. Bella has yeast infection so deep that we still need to continue battling that and unfortunately will need a very expensive prescription if we are going to get rid of it. I was not able to purchase it at this time. Bella will be going in shortly after Christmas and hopefully we will have the funds to start her new treatment before then. As far as her hair growth goes, the scars are so deep that she may not get all of her hair back. We will just have to keep her in puppy clothes to provide her with the warmth her fur would have gave her.
The vets and the nurses are all extremely confidant as to what breed of dog Bella is! She is a Blue Heeler Australian Cattle Dog!
Bella is such a joy. She still has a long way to go, but I am confidant we will get there!!!
Dec,22ond
Bella is now UTD on all shots, however the vet has put her back on the dips for three more weeks. We are still confidant that we will see her through to a full recovery!
Feb,14th 2011
Bella has made amazing progress so far, however, her recovery is taking longer then we anticipated. She is going to need to continue on Ketochlor baths as her skin is deeply rooted with the yeast infection. I am trying to raise money for a return visit to her doctor and additional medicated shampoo. She is coming around nicely as far as trust and confidence issues go. She has established herself well within the pack as well as in the family. We have been focusing on confidence building through obedience training, exercise, desensitization, socialization, and lots of patience.

Palmita Oct, 2010 to Dec, 2010
Oct,19th
Palmita is a sad story with a good outlook. She is a pit-bull mix that is currently in the recovery process with us. I had seen her sleeping on the corner of East Houston for days before I was able to team up with an amazing woman, who also devotes her spare time to rescuing and care for these helpless animals, and get her to our rescue. The woman had informed me that Palmita has been living and sleeping on the corner of this extremely busy intersection under a palm tree, for over two months. She has been religiously, twice a day, checking on, and feeding her.
Like many private in-home rescues, due to the lack of space she was unable to rescue her and like fate we were brought together to rescue this sweet girl.
During Palmitas initial examination we found that she has a broken rib, ear mites, fleas, ticks and mange. Her teeth are filed away from months, maybe more, of eating and scrounging food off of the concrete.

Palmita is the sweetest, most grateful dog I have ever came across. The vet said she is a beagle/pit mix. We have been treating her for weeks but her condition is worsening. I brought her in recently and bought some of her medications and antibiotics, however she also requires ongoing medical treatment. Palmita is also going to be staying with our family until she make a full recovery. We Just found out that Palmita is pregnant. Unfortounatly due to the fluctuation in hormones and stress her condition is worsting.
Nov,8th
Palmita is a little granny girl. She is very affectionate and follows me EVERYWHERE. She has found love in being indoors and taking care of. Palmita has so much personality. I think one of her funniest quirks is the way she will not sit or lay on anything but blankets or cushions. In fact she has a handmade raised wooden bed with a crib mattress in her own room. She is not improving medically as fast as Bella and she need to be rechecked this week to see what eles we can do.
Both girls are still on antibiotics and special dips. Because of all the donations from kind, caring people in the community, I have been able to have them seen once again and pick up more medications. As of right now we are down to less then $100 in their medical account and hope to start receiving more donations soon so we can further their care and treatments this week.
Again thank you for taking the time to read and thank those of you that have shown compassion and support I will continue to keep everybody posted!
Dec,8th
I brought Palmita and her puppies in to our vet on Dec. 8th. We have great news pertaining to her long term outlook! Considering how long Palmita was abandoned on the street the vet had originally said he was pretty sure both girl were going to be loaded with heart worm. By our surprise she has NONE! Her stool sample reveled she has been successfully treated for intestinal parasites. Palmita has be completely vaccinated and received her rabies shots. How ever as far as the skin condition is concerned it has posed to be a huge challenge and we have needed to pick up many other medications for that. The biggest one is that she is severely allergic and still has not over come her yeast infection. She is going to require 6 weeks of non stop treatment. I have picked up this weeks treatment but will need to again rely on donated funds into her account to be able to purchase the remaining 5 weeks.
As far as the Piggy's go (puppies) They are little healthy fatties. Infact the vet had thought that they were already 3 weeks old when in fact they were only one! Their heads are the size of a balled up fist! Palmita also adopted a four week old kitten who she cleans and nurses along with her own babies! The pups will be ready for there forever homes in February. Contact me if you are interested in adopting!
Palmita has started her new treatment and we are hopeful to see improvement soon!
Thank all of you who have contributed to Palmitas cares! She would of never made it this far with out the help from the kind, and compassionate people who have donated to her needs!
Dec 17th
Palmita was brought back in for a skin scraping today. She has completely self mutilated her back side. We have her on a two week treatment for a sever flea allergy. Unfortunately, even know the she is on a flea preventive the flea bites give her a bad allergic reaction. She is now on a steroid to help with the itching, however it has dried up her milk so she cannot continue to nurse the 17 day old puppies. Lots of late nights and early morning bottle feeding for me.
Feb 14, 2011
Palmita is still undergoing treatment for her skin condition. We are raising money to buy her current treatment of Ketochlor, and Lime dip. She has become extremely picky with her food and because she has no teeth and allergies her soft food options are becoming limited as well as expensive. Right now, I am rotating her between Natural Balance and Hill Science Diet. If anyone has any suggestions for a less expensive alternative soft food they have had success with please email me and let me know.

Chance-November 2010
Chance: Day One
Chance was turned over to us by a homeless man just recently. We have him on Antibiotics and Mitaban dips for mange. He is a very spunky dog that is going to require alot of compassion and patience as he is very fearful of people. He came to us in pretty bad shape with skin issues, infection, Iron deficiency and completely starving. We have him on a well balanced diet and he has already gained three pounds!
GRACIE JUNE 4TH 2011
We once again are in great need to pull together funds from the community to help this baby girl we named Gracie receive the medical care she desprately needs. She has obvious skin and yeast infections, as well as mange. She is malnourished, emeciated and has an iron deficiency. She is extreamly shy, however over the last few days she has came to be a little more trusting and I do belive with patience, compassions, and constant gentle socialization she has the capability to become a loyal, trusting addition to a great family.
Our goal is to have raised enough funds together to address her immediate medical needs at the VCA Mission Animal Hospitial by Friday.
